Miami’s Top Hotel Pools

By Elicia Sacharow Let’s be honest: Miami is pretty amazing at any time of year. There truly is a neverending supply of beautiful views chock full of sea, sky, and fun-loving people. Where better to experience it than the hotel pool? Here’s the first round of our picks for Miami’s top boutique hotel pools!

 Sexy Views: The Standard

The Standard Miami No one does spas quite like The Standard. The entire hotel is a healthy hedonistic wonderland of lush gardens, stupendous spa facilities, and above all magnificent views of Biscayne Bay. The main pool is perhaps the most stunning in Miami, seemingly blending pool and bay (and even piping audio underwater!). Thanks to its Belle Isle location in between South Beach and Downtown Miami, not only do the beautiful people of the city seem to congregate here but also they enjoy the relaxing atmosphere. It’s not often easy being beautiful, but here—it’s standard.

Luxurious Options: The Setai

The Setai Miami Beach The Setai is tropical luxury from tip-to-toe. Even for Miami, it has a lot of pools (clocking in at 3)—but that’s not even what makes the number so unique: each pool is kept at a different temperature. There’s plenty of lounge space around each pool if you’d rather soak in the sun or you can head to the beach and its private day-beds. Personally speaking, we find the super exclusive pool area and tropical garden accompaniment to be the perfect epitome of SoBe luxury. Fun fact: the name Setai is a combination of the Indonesian words for “South” and “Beach”.

Party Pool: Dream South Beach

Dream South Beach Dream Pool There’s nothing quite like a rooftop pool and definitely nothing like a Miami rooftop pool. The Dream South Beach channels its inner 1970’s party kid on a golden sunny day. You’ve really got two hotels worth of rooftops to enjoy—Dream occupies both the former Tudor and Palmer houses—and double the possibilities. Chill by the pool with a drink from Highbar or perhaps lounge in a secluded corner. Oh yeah, and did we mention that it’s all open at night? With a location like this, South Beach’s top nightlife is all within walking distance, but you can let them come to you. You’ll never have to fight to get in since you’re a guest (but do arrive early if you fancy a place to sit because this is popular).

Cool Pools: Soho Beach House

Soho Beach House Miami Soho Houses the world around are known for their exclusive membership for the elites of the media and creative world. But want in for just a little bit? Reserve a room at the Soho Beach House and gain access to their beachy playground in Mid Beach (honestly a much better option for the calmer side of Miami). You never know who you’ll run into at one of the two pools here. Maybe you’ll spot a famous actor lounging around the 100 foot-long main pool or that musician you love taking the plunge on Ocho (the 8th floor rooftop taqueria overlooking the ocean).

Art Deco Seclusion: The Betsy South Beach

The Betsy South Beach Pool The Betsy South Beach knows how to make an entrance. It’s not flashy—it’s colonial and oozes easy elegance. A buzzing arts calendar keeps writers, poets, musicians, and art rotating throughout the hotel (heck, just check out your in-room library with signed copies of books authors have left) and elevates the atmosphere here, but don’t forget that Betsy’s got her own charms. While it doesn’t have the ocean views of the rooftop, the hidden pool is guests-only and a luxurious sapphire oasis and the perfect antidote to the chaos of South Beach. Pop in for a plunge!   Miami’s pool scene doesn’t stop here—take a look at our full Miami collection here!
